Rocca di Frassinello Guest House

Nestled in a wing of the cellar projected by Renzo Piano and immersed in the silence interrupted only by the sounds of nature, Rocca di Frassinello Guesthouse is a place suspended in time where you can enjoy an authentic travel experience in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma.

Top wines, wild nature and culture are the key elements that will make your holiday at Rocca di Frassinello Guesthouse very special. In fact, our guests, in addition to staying in a unique location, designed by the greatest Italian architect, will have the opportunity to taste Rocca di Frassinello’s fine wines and to closely follow the cycle production, from the vineyard to the bottle, to understand how a “wine factory” works. But also to discover how 3,000 years ago, on these same hills, the Etruscans cultivated vines, thanks to the finds exhibited in the Etruscan Museum inside the cellar, found in the nearby Necropolis of San Germano.

If you are traveling as a couple, this is the ideal place to spend unforgettable moments of intimacy, watching romantic sunsets over the rolling hills, sipping a glass of wine, and be overwhelmed by the breathtaking beauty of the starry skies thanks to the total absence of light pollution. If you are traveling with children, this is the right place to enjoy family time taking part in outdoor activities, in contact with lush nature populated by wild animals, rare species of birds and plants.

Rocca di Frassinello Guesthouse is composed of four double rooms and two apartments (consisting of three bedrooms, kitchen, living room and two bathrooms) furnished in a minimal-chic style, with floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the estate. The accommodations are fully equipped with TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and independent heating and the stay includes the daily breakfast.

Rocca di Frassinello Guesthouse is not the classic hotel with concierge service h24, restaurant, swimming pool and other facilities typical of a resort: it’s an intimate guesthouse immersed in unspoiled nature that embraces guests with its scents and colors. Do not expect, therefore, touristic entertainment because time here follows the rhythms of nature to give the opportunity to unplug and discover the Tuscan slow life living authentic experiences.

To reach such an uncontaminated place, off the beaten track, you will drive on a dirt road for approximately 1 km. The track is well marked by directional signs and can be covered quite easily by any kind of vehicle.

In addition to fully enjoying the experiences in the cellar, guests staying at Rocca di Frassinello Guesthouse can explore the estate on foot, or start from here to discover the area, perhaps by bike or on horseback. From the wildest beaches of the coast to the most charming medieval hamlets, from nature reserves to boat trips among the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, our staff will be happy to recommend you the most beautiful itineraries and will select for you the best restaurants to taste the local cuisine.

The Maremma is the southernmost territory of Tuscany, a small paradise of biodiversity that extends from the mining territory of the Metalliferous Hills to the Argentario promontory. It offers a mixture of ancient civilizations, enduring local traditions, lush landscapes and many nature reserves. All of this is accompanied by an outstanding culinary and wine-making tradition. The slow tourism in this area is based on a wide range of outdoor activities in contact with nature, from the sandy beaches to the wild Mediterranean scrub. From here you can also reach the 7 islands of the Tuscan archipelago, ideal for scuba diving, windsurf and kitesurf. Ancient Etruscan settlements and tombs dot the landscape, including Rocca di Frassinello estate, and some of Tuscany’s most intriguing towns adorn the hilltops.

Like the beautiful Massa Marittima, famous for its Duomo, the Cathedral of San Cerbone, which dominates the square from above main city; or the magical “Borghi del Tufo”, such as Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana. Not only history and culture, Maremma is also sport and wellness with some of the most renowned Spas in Tuscany, such as the Terme di Saturnia park, or the well-equipped Golf Club of Punta Ala and Gavorrano.
