GIUSEPPE PINO
He has long been known for his photographs of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and other famous jazz recording artists. His black and white works of art grace the album cover of their most famous hits. This 57-year-old Milanese joined Panorama in 1967 at the time it started coming out weekly. As a photo journalist he was always after an idea, an ingenious idea, a union of detail and a deeper meaning of the person photographed. He spent many years in New York collaborating with prestigious magazines, the likes of Time and Vanity Fair. He has been the sole photographer of many advertising campaigns for major Italian labels such as Zegna and Benetton. His list of famous subjects includes important personalities of industry (from Giovanni Agnelli to Malcolm Forbes), of fashion (from Valentino to Giorgio Armani), of design and architecture (from Ettore Sottsass to Alessandro Mendini), and of great cuisine (from Sirio Maccioni to Roger Vergé). |
