The labels of the different vintages of the wines of Castellare constitute a real collection since every year the bird changes for each wine, with the exception of the Governo, the three white wines, the oil and the vinegar.
The sketches of the various birds are of one of the greatest bird-watchers of history, as well as great illustrator: John Gould, whose rare books, have reached exorbitant prices to the last auctions of Sotheby and Christies.

This is the reason why Castellare decided to become also editor for a series of poster showing all the labels as well as to reproduce the collection of labels and bottles on the table set, that are the so colled american mats, and on wonderful paper napkins. A vivid memory for anyone who has been at Castellare or for any lover of our wines.

We are now also starting the production of some beautiful trays always showing the collection of labels on top as well as the production of the traditional real prints with different sketches of the selected birds among those who are always more and more rare in Chianti, as in other regions, not for the hunting but for the use of the chemical products of synthesis and for the herbicides. In the logic of protecting Nature, the vineyards of Castellare, as the other Dcc companies, does not use chemical products of synthesis, but only Bordeaux mixture and verdigris.
