Niccol\u00f2 2014<\/strong>, flagship wine of Castellare di Castellina, gets the 7th position<\/strong> by adding the scores awarded by the 6 most authoritative Italian guides 2019 (Gambero Rosso, Bibenda, Veronelli, Daniele Cernilli and Luca Maroni). But when these scores are added to those expressed by the most important international wine critics – Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate and James Suckling – I Sodi di S. Niccol\u00f2 2014 gains the 3rd position<\/strong>, just behind Tignanello 2015 (2nd) and Bolgheri Rosso Sassicaia 2015 (1st).

\r\n\r\n10th<\/strong> of the Italian guides ranking, Baffonero 2016<\/strong> from Rocca di Frassinello, elegant and powerful Merlot, official challenger of Masseto (the most expensive Italian wine). These important goals reward Alessandro Cellai<\/strong> (chief winemaker and CEO of Domini Castellare di Castellina group), who works together with the owner, Paolo Panerai<\/strong>, since 1994.

\r\n \r\nBut how are Gentleman rankings compiled?<\/strong>

\r\nGentleman has drawn up the ranking of the 100 Best Italian Red Wines adding the votes of the most accredited Italian guides published in 2019. Three of them (Veronelli, Cernilli and Maroni) express the evaluations in points out of 100, while the others (who express their ratings with symbols, as for example the three glasses of Gambero Rosso) are translated into centesimal votes.
