The bird of the 2024 vintage
The Codirosso Comune is a small migrant at risk of extinction who has found its ideal habitat among the Castellare vineyards, thanks to environmentally friendly viticulture. Lonely e alert, it loves to observe the countryside and its surroundings from high positions, ready to quickly launch itself on its prey. Despite his distrustful nature, over the years it has learned to live with man and today it is also possible to meet him in urban parks, among the vineyards and vegetable gardens of the Tuscan countryside. Starting from this year, there is a QR Code that refers to the melodious song of the Codirosso: an invitation to discover a fragment of nature that accompanies every bottle of Castellare.

The 2024 harvest
The 2024 Chianti Classico harvest was characterized by a climate that favored the excellent quality of the grapes and a return to average production quantities after the difficult year of 2023. After a winter with regular rain and a cool spring, the soil’s water reserves were maintained, allowing the vines to withstand the summer heat. The season was marked by generally favorable weather conditions, with a hot but not extreme summer, which allowed optimal maturation of Sangiovese.

The pairings
Versatile and vibrant, the Castellare’s Chianti Classico pairs elegantly with tasty dishes such as pasta with ragù, mature cheeses, meat stews and roasts, without forgetting the Florentine steak, symbol of the Tuscan tradition. On Chianti tables it often accompanies the strong flavors of game, such as pici with white hare ragù or colombaccio alla cacciatora, for a perfect balance between territory and pleasure.
