Spring brings the new vintage of the Governo di Castellare
Spring is in the air at Castellare di Castellina. And while nature awakens from the winter hibernation, the new vintage of the Governo di Castellare arrives on our tables: a red, fresh and drinkable wine produced according to a traditional Tuscan vinification technique called “governo” that has been abandoned in the Chianti Classico.

        It’s the Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella) the new bird on the label of Castellare di Castellina Chianti Classico 2017. A graceful little bird with a golden plumage that belongs to the threatened species ever less present in the Chianti countryside due to the indiscriminate use of synthetic chemicals.
